Directives, Notices, Guidelines and Policy

Guidance for administration and enforcement of agency statutes and for advising the public of agency policy. These enable VAAFM Meat Inspection to carry out its mission of protecting the public health. 

 Vermont Directives 

  • Vermont Directives provide official communication and instruction to Agency personnel in carrying out their functions.

Vermont Notices 

  • Vermont Notices are time sensitive materials used to provide instruction in support of workplace policies, procedures, and food safety regulations. The Notices are based on the requirements of the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service.

Vermont Guidelines

  • Guidelines do not have the force and effect of law and are not meant to bind the public in any way. Documents are intended only to provide clarity to the public regarding existing requirements under the law or agency policies.
