Soil as a Living System with Christine Jones

Soil as a Living System with Christine Jones

June 4th - 9:30 am - 3:30 pm, lunch included
Farm location update soon

This is a unique opportunity to spend a day with legendary Australian soil scientist Christine Jones and get deep into understanding how the soil really works.

Tuesday, June 4th - Conn. River Valley, VT

CRWFA is collaborating with Vermont Grass Farmers and WR NRCD to host Dr. Jones in the Connecticut River valley. She's coming a long way - tickets are for sale. Space is limited. Get your tickets here.

A long day off the farm in early June! Hard, we know. This is the only time she will be in the USA. If there's something we can do to help free you up so you can attend for the day, we'll do it.

Tickets are offered at a sliding scale for farmers with a suggested price of $30.00 and for general admission (including technical assistance providers) tickets are $60.00.

NRCD-Franklin County - Birding on Farms

NRCD-Franklin County has organized the following event: Birding on Farms to be held 2024-06-08 from 7am-9am in Fairfield.

Land management practices implemented on farm fields across Vermont have a wide range of impacts on birds, their habitat, and their food. The intersection between agriculture and birds is a complex one, however, farms can offer diverse habitats, food, shelter, and nesting sites when the land is managed with birds in mind. Not only do birds benefit from bird-friendly management, but humans reap the benefit of improved water quality from practices such as riparian buffers, native tree and shrub plantings, pollinator plantings, and much more.

To learn more, contact Kerry Brosnan at kerry@franklincountynrcd.org or (802)-528-4175.

Physical address of event (if applicable):
1789 Barry Rd, Fairfield, VT 05455, USA
