This document outlines important guidelines and provides information to employees answering the phones within the Division. It is expected that these guidelines will be followed any time a call is received from a person who is lodging a complaint against an individual, farm or business.

This notice reissues instructions previously issued in FSIS Notice 33-22, Modifications to the Kidney Inhibition Swab (KISTM) Reason Code Selection Options in the Public Health Information System, which expires July 1, 2023, to continue to inform Public Health Veterinarians, Supervisory Consumer Safety Inspectors, and Consumer Safety Inspectors of the KISTM testing reason codes in the Public Health Information System (PHIS).
