Tropical Storm Beryl inundated parts of Vermont on July 10 and overnight into July 11. Farmland, roads, bridges, buildings and properties were once again impacted, exactly one year after the flooding of 2023. Then, more storms hit the Northeast Kingdom and other areas later in July causing more damage and distress in new places, and some already impacted.
Please know that the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets is working to help our farmers and our agriculture community, and to assess the situation and provide the best response and assistance to you that we can. That work is in progress and has been ongoing since the flooding occurred. Any new resources and assistance programs will be posted here, and you can find other supportive resources and programs here that were developed from last years flooding event.

$7 million has been approved to provide rapid relief to businesses, farms, and nonprofits that sustained physical damage from the 2024 flooding events. 2024 Flood Loss and Damage Survey - VAAFM, in coordination with the Vermont Agricultural Recovery Task Force is asking flood-impacted agricultural producers to participate in the 2024 FLOOD LOSS AND DAMAGE SURVEY. The purpose of this survey is to capture the scale and location of the flood-related damage agricultural producers suffered throughout the state starting on July 10, 2024. The survey will remain open to capture information on loss and damages until the deadline of September 15, 2024. Participants are welcome to submit more than one report, if they incur additional losses, but we request that they only report “new” impacts.
