Vermont Agency of Agriculture to host Farm to School Awareness Celebration and announce 2017 farm to school grant recipients on Wednesday, February 8, from 4:00 –6:00 PM.

WHAT: Farm to School Awareness Day: A celebratory event hosted by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) during which over $80,000 in grants and technical supports will be awarded to 13 schools from across Vermont for the growth and development of farm to school programs.  The event will also serve as an opportunity for lawmakers and the public to learn more about the Vermont Farm to School Grant Program, its history, successes and impact.  Special guest Governor Phil Scott is scheduled to attend the event.

WHO: Keynote speakers will include: Secretary of Agriculture Anson Tebbetts, Secretary of Education Rebecca Holcombe, Vermont House Speaker Mitzi Johnson, Vermont Senate President Pro Tempore Tim Ashe, Betsy Rosenbluth from Vermont Farm to School Network, students from BFA Fairfax, and Farm to School Program Coordinator Ali Zipparo from VAAFM.
