VT Directive 8010.3 Rev 7 Procedures For Evidence Collection Safeguarding and Disposal

This directive provides the methodologies and procedures that VAAFM personnel in the Meat Inspection Section (collectively referred to in this directive as program employees) are to apply when collecting, safeguarding, and disposing of evidence in the performance of surveillance, investigations, and other activities under the Federal Meat Inspection Act, (FMIA), the Poultry Products Inspection Act (PPIA),– collectively referred to as ―the Acts‖ – related laws and regulations, and 6 V.S.A Chapter 204. Additional information is provided related to photography collection and authority, using smartphones to collect evidence, collecting investigative samples using the Public Health Information System (PHIS), and to make other clarifications.
