The Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) respectfully submits this report as required under Section 8 of Act 41 enacted on May 20, 2021, addressing the importation of food residuals for farming as defined in 10 V.S.A. § 6001(22)(H).1

The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) Water Quality Division provides financial and technical assistance to Vermont farmers in support of their construction and implementation of on-farm improvements designed to abate nonpoint source agricultural waste discharges into the waters of the State of Vermont, consistent with the goals of the federal Water Pollution Control Act, the State Water Quality Standards, and Vermont’s Required Agricultural Practices Regulations (RAPs).
