By: Vermont Dairy Producers Conference Committee
Now in its 25th year, the Vermont Dairy Producers Conference celebrates the dairy industry and the farmers who work tirelessly to provide milk to individuals across Vermont and beyond. This year’s conference will be held on Tuesday, February 20 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Burlington, Vermont. It features innovative sessions led by industry experts and provides an opportunity to connect with more than 200 farmers and representatives from across the northeast representing more than 50 dairy-related organizations.
This year’s conference features five well-known speakers from across North America, sharing information about topics ranging from milk production to farm transition planning.
Dave Barbano (Cornell University) and MaryAnne Drake (North Carolina State University) will provide a presentation on dairy product innovation. Certified Coach Elaine Froese will discuss supporting farm families and farm succession planning. Mark Thomas, DVM, from Dairy Health and Management Services, will share strategic approaches for optimizing dairy management to enhance herd profitability. The conference will also feature a dairy producer panel discussion on workforce development led by Richard Stup from Cornell Cooperative Extension.
