Agricultural businesses are invited to join a free introductory grant course this January. This one-day course will help businesses navigate the world of grants and will explain each of the steps in the granting process. This course is not intended to assist with the actual grant writing process; it will focus solely on what to expect during the process and how to be fully prepared to complete an application.
Two professional grant writers will lead the course and provide broad guidance on preparing grants. Representatives from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Working Lands Enterprise Initiative, Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) will be available during the course to provide general information about state and federal grants and what to expect when applying for those grants.
This course is free and limited to 15 participants. All participants must be part of an agriculture business and apply to attend the course. Applications are available by emailing course director and grant writer Janet Lee at gmprovt@gmail.com.
The course will take place at the UVM Extension office located at 327 US Route 302, Suite 1, Berlin on January 24th from 8:45am – 1:30pm. In the event of inclement weather, a snow date has been scheduled for February 7th.
Questions regarding the course can be directed to Janet Lee at gmprovt@gmail.com.
This course is made possible by the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board and Working Lands Enterprise Initiative.
