The Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing (VDTM) has a few different opportunities for marketing any Vermont agritourism business that is regularly open to the public (seasonally counts as well). These tools will help raise your business’s visibility amongst out-of-state tourists and keep you up-to-date on what is happening in Vermont tourism.
Vermont Stay & Play Directory & Events Calendar
Vermont Vacation’s Stay & Play directory is the largest searchable database of Vermont lodging, dining, attractions, recreation, and shopping in the state. Annually, it has over 180,000 unique users and over 220,000 sessions. A basic listing is free. Separate businesses each need their own listing.
To submit a directory listing or event:
- First, go to https://plan.vermontvacation.com/
- Scroll down to the black banner at the bottom of the page.
- Click on “Create An Account”, fill out the form and submit it.
- Sign into your new account and go back to the black banner at the bottom of the page.
- Now click on “Submit a New Listing” or “Submit a New Event” – fill that out and submit.
Social Media
VDTM maintains an active presence on the major social media accounts, including posting daily content on Facebook, X, and Instagram. Vermont attractions interested in leveraging VDTM’s social networks for additional promotion are welcome to share their content by tagging @VermontTourism and using the hashtag #ThisisVT. News articles, photos, and videos usually perform well when shared on social media. Contact Caleigh Cross for consideration.

Influencers and Content Creators
VDTM works with an influencer agency to bring influencers/content creators to the state throughout the year. Their stays highlight Vermont to a variety of distinct audiences. If your business is interested in providing complimentary stays, meals, or experiences please let us know by contacting Katharine Ingram at Katharine.Ingram@vermont.gov.
Vermont Tourism Summit
Join VT tourism industry colleagues at the 40th annual Vermont Tourism Summit (VTS) in Burlington this April 28-29th. A must-attend event for any association, business or organization looking to get involved in the state’s tourism industry.
