Description: Join the Champlain Valley Farmer Coalition and UVM Extension for a roundtable discussion on new seedings and seeding down. This event is for farmers to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices for establishing new crops, pastures, and forage systems. There will be short presentations followed by an open discussion for farmers to share insights and ask questions. Topics will include: - Selecting seed varieties based on soil characteristics, field conditions, and forage goals. - Seedbed preparation, planting, and maintenance considerations. - Strategies for seeding down pastures and hayfields to improve yields. - Overcoming challenges like weeds, pests, and variable weather. Lunch will be provided.
