The Annual 2025 Tristate Greenhouse IPM Workshop is coming soon!
“Out with the Old, In with the New”
BURLINGTON, Vt. — Are you challenged with too many insect pests and diseases on your crops? Attend this workshop to learn new techniques for managing them. University of Vermont, along with specialists from New Hampshire and Maine, is holding the annual tristate workshop online. This is a two-session event held on Thursday, January 23 and 30, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:30 pm EST. Sessions will include information on the potential of UV-C light to manage powdery mildew and thrips, the latest on regional neonic pesticide restrictions, timing of aphid biocontrol and sanitation, the cornerstone of IPM. Sessions on other IPM related topics will also be offered. Several advanced growers will share their insights on how they make IPM work for them. These sessions will help new and experienced growers produce beautiful ornamentals and bedding plants.
These workshops are primarily for growers with greenhouses or high tunnels, extension specialists and professional pest managers. Growers of all experience levels and from any state are welcome to attend. Up to 4 Pesticide Applicator Training recertification credits will be awarded to attendees (approved in VT and states accepting reciprocal credits [ME, NH, MA, CT, RI] and hopefully NY). Growers must be present online and actively participate to receive credit. If you can’t make the session, you can still receive the recording to view later, though you will not receive pesticide credit. Preregistration is required.
