After welcoming remarks and updates from various state agricultural agencies, Rafiq Islam, Ohio State University, will explain the impact no-till practices and cover crops have on soil health, crop productivity and food quality. Odette Ménard, a Quebec soil and water conservation expert, will discuss soil health and compaction while John Wallace, Pennsylvania State University, will cover weed control in no-till and cover crops.
Participants also will hear from several University of Vermont (UVM) Extension researchers. Juan Alvez, Joshua Faulkner and Shawn Lucas will provide updates on UVM soil and water research.
