Makes one cake
Ingredients
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¾ c. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 c. packed light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 c. milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 10” tube/bundt pan.
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Stir well with a whisk. Beat the butter in a large bowl at medium speed until light and fluffy. Gradually add brown sugar and vanilla, beating until well-blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture alternately with the milk beating at low speed. Begin and end with the flour mixture.
- Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for ten minutes on a wire rack and remove from pan. Cool completely on a wire rack. Sprinkle powdered sugar over top of cake.
Note: At the holiday, we use four 3”x6” loaf pans which is great for gift giving. Baking time will vary.
