Free mediation services are available to dairy farmers for financial challenges and other conflicts through state Agricultural Mediation Centers in the Northeast US.
The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) has received funding from the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) to expand capacity and market access for Vermont’s nonprofit food hubs. Funding will support two to eight food hubs to help with critical infrastructure needs, enabling hubs to support more farm and food businesses, expand their workforce, and advance their ongoing efforts to access larger metropolitan markets.
The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) hosted at the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM), seeks a contractor to oversee travel logistics, communications, and funds management for a three-day event in the Southwest Missouri. A cohort of up to 30 Northeast farmers and additional technical service providers will travel to Missouri for a three-day dairy grazing learning journey. Contractor is not necessary for onsite event management but will be expected to be available to NE-DBIC to troubleshoot issues during the event, as needed.
