Solar Grazing Workshop

Solar grazing as a climate-smart farming practice, at Meach Cove Farms

Date & Time: Wednesday July 24, 2024;  2-5 pm

Location:
Meach Cove Farms

109 Colonel Fletcher Road Shelburne, VT 05482

Description: Join us at Meach Cove Farms for a climate smart workshop on grazing sheep around solar panels and along field boundaries and forest edges. This workshop covers the fundamentals of a rotational grazing plan and the benefits to soil health, forage quality, and climate mitigation from grazing sheep.

Visit a solar site and other farm areas where sheep are controlling vegetation including invasives. This innovative approach to grazing integrates renewable energy production and other farm goals with responsible livestock management.

To request a disability-related accommodation to participate in this session, please contact leila.larosa@uvm.edu at least two weeks before the event so that we may assist you.
