Dave Mance - I began sugaring in the mid 1950’s as a family activity, and have grown the operation with my children and now grandchildren into a smaller, mid-sized endeavor. Degrees in Forestry led to a career in Forestry and Land Surveying that gave me the expertise and freedom to be a sugarmaker, and to observe its evolution. Our ag land is leased for three very different types of activities while we manage our sugarbush and timberland. I’ve been a Bennington Co. Director to Vermont Maple Sugarmakers Association for over 30 years, a past Vice President and am now Secretary of the organization.
