Twenty-nine Vermont Food and Fiber Producers Welcome Visitors to Vermont Building
September 22, 2022 | Montpelier, VT - The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) invites all to Vermont Day at the Big E, this Saturday, September 23rd. This exciting event takes place annually at the Vermont Building on the Avenue of States at the Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts. During Vermont Day, you’ll find 29 Vermont vendors set up to serve you inside and outside of the historic Vermont Building.
“As soon as you step onto the grounds of the Vermont building, the experience transports you into the very heart of the Green Mountain State,” Agriculture Secretary Anson Tebbetts said. “Please come by for music, food and fun and you will be rewarded with a Taste of Vermont.”
In the Vermont Building you can check out Vermont-made clothing and accessories, sample and buy delicious Vermont created treats, try award-winning cheeses, drink Vermont crafted ciders and beers on tap, maple syrup and much, much more.
To celebrate Vermont Day, the front lawn of the Vermont Building will be abuzz with Vermont musicians, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and much more – all in addition to the great vendors inside the building. New this year is a refurbished back patio at the Vermont Building, hosting food trucks for the first time. Maudite Poutine will be serving poutine and So-Full Sisters has a variety of savory items, including chicken and waffle bowls and pulled pork bowls.
Vermont Day is typically the largest day of the fair, bringing in more than 177,000 fairgoers on that day alone in 2022. Last year, the Big E drove more than $1.7 million in sales to Vermont businesses. With 1.6 million attendees each year, the commitment to this event is no small undertaking.
